Boy Scouts of America Prepared for Life

Boy Scout Troop 52

Troop 52 is a division of the Boy Scouts of America, who offer and encourage effective citizenship and the building of character. As a troop, we utilize the resources we have as well as participate in many different activities such as campouts to support our Scouts on their journey to the Eagle rank. Our Troop is chartered by the Hinsdale United Methodist Church, and meetings are held every Sunday with exceptions. (Check the Calendar for more information.)

A Successful Troop

Our troop has garnered many different Eagle Scout graduates under our Eagle Coach, Sally Sylvester and our Scoutmaster, Tom Warren.

Camping

Troop 52 has regular campouts. Past campouts have focused on camping, hiking, canoeing, cooking, and other activities that relate to Boy Scouts. Each summer we attend a week-long summer camp as well as other various camps throughout the school year.

Merit Badges

Merit badges are awards earned by youth members of the Boy Scouts of America (BSA), based on activities within an area of study by completing a list of periodically updated requirements. The purpose of the merit badge program is to allow Scouts to examine subjects to determine if they would like to further pursue them as a career or a vocation.
